WHAT SHOULD A CASINO OFFER

I go to casinos to have fun the alternative day/night out. I do not want to spend time in an establishment that has been created to encourage problem and compulsive gambling. A place created for people with gambling addictions and gambling compulsion. When I go to a casino I want to have fun and sit in a nice comfortable safe environment. I want to have fun when I play in a casino be it live games or slot machines. Spend a little money maybe if I am lucky win a little money, watch a show, grab a bite to eat, listen to good music or just interact with other people in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

When I was in Dublin I went into Fitzwilliams Casino, WOW!!!!! what an eye opener this is serious gambling for a country in which casinos are illegal this is serious. It was the sweat shop version of a casino. No FUN!! No sound except for the dealers calling numbers or figures, no enjoyment on the faces of the people just very serious gambling business. How awful a casino from hell!!! Needless to say I did not spend any of my hard earned money here I would rather fold the notes into little paper ships and watch it floating down the river Liffey at least I will enjoy the experience. Then I went into a slots arcade in Dublin and there the attendants all went to that famed academy " Specialist School of Customer Haters " that was great fun too and thanks to them my money also remained very safe in my pocket.

I prefer going to a casino like the casinos in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, South Africa, Greece, Macau and a few more places, at least I know the slot machines in those places are subjected to some form of regulation and standards and control and that the casinos are not sleaze holes where gambling is a pure addiction and compulsion and where goodness knows what other horrors go on.

Hi there,
Interesting viewpoint. I agree that going to a casino should be seen as a form of entertainment. Fitzwilliams is a "club" and operates under the current law as such I think. Casinos are still "illegal" and it is a grey area in Ireland.

In Bulgaria the slots halls and casinos are all the same, dreary places, with no music or any form of entertainment and lots of free beer to ensure you lose that little bit of self control! Unregulated on the whole, they are wide open to abuse by the owners, some of them also own & manufacturer the machines they place on their own casino floors! You can imagine they have the well being of their players interest at heart! Hahaha
